The calm nature and environment of the Landes in winter<\/h2>\n

Once summer is over, the light in the Landes changes. The region reveals itself in a different way. Far from the bustle of the summer crowds, the soundscape too becomes calm and soothing. As for temperatures, they’re never particularly cold, and can even feel especially mild in winter. All of this creates a peaceful, very pleasant atmosphere that makes you want to get outside and explore the surrounding nature. Here, nature is left in its purest state.
\nIndeed, during your stay in the Landes you can explore a range of magnificent scenery. You could settle in on the beautiful beaches of Le Vivier, Navarrosse and others\u2026 but you should also head off to discover the Landes Regional Nature Park. In deep winter, its forest takes on an almost magical atmosphere. The Arjuzanx National Nature Reserve is also well worth the detour: you’ll love watching the wintering common cranes and admiring an impressive number of other bird species.
\nWe’d also recommend a visit to the \u00c9tangs Noir et Blanc (Black and White Lakes), the Barthes de l’Adour and the Leyre, a beautifully calm and intimate river.<\/p>\n

Accommodation and promotional offers in the low season<\/h2>\n

It’s worth knowing first of all that accommodation in this part of France is highly appealing. Indeed, a campsite in the Landes<\/a> in Biscarrosse such as L’Arbre d’Or holds a 4-star rating and offers facilities worthy of a hotel. You can enjoy both a heated outdoor pool and another open-air pool, as well as access to a wellness area complete with a jacuzzi you’re sure to love.
\nWhile many such accommodations close for winter once holidaymakers leave at the end of summer, others take a different approach, working to showcase the hidden treasures the Landes have to offer during the winter season. To do this, owners cut their prices. So don’t hesitate to make the most of this great deal with friends, family or your other half for your next winter getaway.<\/p>\n

Activities suited to the season<\/h2>\n

A winter holiday in the Landes is also a chance to put together a wonderful programme full of sporting, relaxing and\/or gourmet activities.
\nWalks through the Landes forest can be an excellent option. You’ll enjoy hiking through this man-made forest massif, whatever your level. Those who feel the cold less can try surfing on the beaches. You could also try another increasingly popular water sport that’s a little less refreshing: sand yachting, which is drawing more and more fans of all ages.
\nAfter such activities, it can be especially pleasant to unwind at one of the region’s spa centres. There are many of them, and you won’t regret the moments of wellbeing you’ll experience there. Finally, if you’re a food lover, treat yourself to oysters at the restaurants on Lake Hossegor, or excellent foie gras, confit and aiguillettes from the region’s March\u00e9s du Gras (foie gras markets).
